Clean your house!

I have been a member of Clean Home Journal for a few years now.  It's a great website.   They have a lot of great hints and tips to keep your home spic and span and tons of great recipes for every season of the year.

I have to tell you though... my very favorite section is the coupons!   You have to love it when you can save money on the products you are going to buy anyway!

Natural Beauty Soaps

Did you realize that sometimes the soaps you use can be really drying to your skin?   Using a good handmade soap can make all the difference.
I discovered this site just today but I am so impressed with the huge line of products!  They carry everything from handmade glycerin soap and shea butter soap to body/room sprays, natural pet care, hair care and even lip balms!  This is just a little bit of their wide selection!

After I started looking around I was positive that the prices were going to be outrageous.  Imagine my suprise and delight to find out that the prices are very reasonable and even low!

I for one will be doing some shopping here as soon as I can decide what I want!

Cookin At Home

Cookin At Home is a great website for those of us who get tired of making the same dishes over and over, night after night, week after week.
If you are like me you actually enjoy finding and trying out new recipes especially if they are fairly quick and easy.
You can find recipes for chicken, fish, pork and pasta, main dishes, desserts, and even for special diets.  It really is amazing just how much is included on this one website!
Tonight I'm going to try a variation of the Chuck Wagon Hash for dinner!

Jenny Haha

This is a blog I found recently by accident but felt like it was a "must share".  Jenny hahas Flaw and Disorder is so much fun that it's hard to leave.
I really wish I knew the whole story behind the Wong Funeral and I don't right now.  I bet by the end of the day I will!
The piece on daylight savings time is destined to become a Jenny haha classic so make sure you read it!

Thanks Jenny Haha...  I don't know who you are but I sure like your style!

Ezine Articles

One of the toughest parts of building a website, a blog or an ezine is finding articles that compliment your site.  Now of course you don't want a site that is full of nothing but articles but you do need to find fresh content now and then.
Ezinearticles.com is a great place to find those articles.  They have articles on anything you can imagine!
I am needing to change two of the articles on one of my websites and was just this morning wondering what to replace them with and how to make it easy.
One of my articles is about car seats and safety.  I just did a quick search to see if I could find an article to replace it with and sure enough, the perfect article popped up.
When you are looking for fresh new content be sure to check out ezinearticles.com.

Step by Step

If you happen to be a step parent and there are a lot of us these days you will love this blog.  Step by Step is all about the "Blended Family".
All the good the bad the in between and the wonderful.  Yes there are wonderful days!

There is a ton of information here on dealing with the kids, keeping the relationship real (both husband and wife and kid and parent) and a lot of really helpful resources.
They have recently started an open thread on blended families where you can ask questions and get answers from others who might have already experienced the frustrations you are dealing with.

Lilbitofheaven

Lilbitofheaven could easily become one of my favorite message boards.  I think a lot of it is the skins they use make me feel relaxed while I am there.. :)
Really though, the owner has done a great job of putting together a website for women of all ages where you can talk about most anything.
Right now they have sections on beauty, easter crafts, easter recipes, cleaning tips, mom advice, men (we all need that section somedays!) fun and helpful sites, giggles and laughs and just a ton of other sections.
This is a must have site listed for all you forum hoppers!

Athomeresources.com

At Home Resources was created to help other mothers that are already working from home and for those looking to find a legitimate way to work out of their homes. You will find Direct Sales Opportunities, Business Tools, State By State Directory, Plug Boards, Business Leads, Message Boards, Free Classified Ads, Resources, Banner/ Link Exchange, Free Newsletter and recipes.   They also have some great rates on their advertising and everyone is really nice!

Amore Vintage

Amore Vintage is fantastic!  They sell clothes and accessories from all different eras.   Just taking a peek I fell in love with the spectator pumps.
The BOHO clogs are absolutely adorable and fun and I was very surprised to find that were less than $15!
This is a site you must visit if you are looking for something different for that special night out, prom, or homecoming or if you just want something fun and funky to wear.

Flashback Videos

Flashback videos is a great website with a terrific service.   Remember all those old family videos you have sitting in boxes or stored under the television?
Flashback Videos can take those old videos and turn them into new DVD's!  So many people have moved away from the VCR and now only use their DVD players or if you are like me you still have the VCR just so you can watch those old tapes.
Send in your tapes, get them transferred to new DVD's and clear out some clutter in the process!

BoredReader

Time to get off my hiney and back to business before winter sets in!

First on the agenda is Boredreader.   This is a very different message board in that it's all about flaming.  Remember the guy that cut you off this morning or the boss that made you so mad  you just wanted to spit?
Boredreader gives you just the place to vent.  Now in all fairness it can be a little confusing as well.  For instance there is another forum that is very popular but the members at boredreader seem to flame that forum and it's members almost daily.  For the life of me I haven't yet figured out why they continue to visit the other forum but hey, it's all about entertainment right?

Take some time to visit http://www.boredreader.com/forum/bored.htm and let me know what YOU think!

NoExcusesGym

It's that time again!  Time to make your New Year Resolution.  I wouldn't be at all surprised to see that the number one resolution for most people especially in the US will be to "Lose Weight".
If you have been working at home or are trying to work from home one thing you will find is that you are probably very sedentary.  I think personally I have probably gained a good 10 pounds since I started working at home 3 years ago!  Sitting in front of a computer all day long is not the way to stay fit.
I recently found this great blog dealing with personal training.  The NoExcusesGym blog is written by Marcela, a personal trainer who knows a lot about good nutrition and staying fit.
Marcela offers plans and ideas on training plans, fitness, diet, nutrition and includes a daily tip for staying in shape and keeping fit.   The section on daily tips is extremely helpful and my personal favorite.  Do YOU know which hotels in the US offer the best gym equipment?  Do You know how you can eat out at restaurants and not kill your diet?  Do YOU know how to store your fruits and vegetables and still retain the nutrients?  Did you even know that you can store them and LOSE nutrients?  Marcela knows and Marcela shares all this great information to help us all stay healthy and get in shape!  Happy New Year!

The Next Pandemic

This is a very interesting site!  If you have ever wondered just what in the heck all the fuss is about a pandemic flu, you will want to bookmark this site and do some reading.  It was just a few days ago when we ourselves were trying to figure out what the difference is between an epidemic and a pandemic.  Im still not sure I know but I will be doing some reading here to see if I can find the answer!  http://thenextpandemic.blogspot.com/

Business Opportunity

Business Opportunity is a nice website that affords you the opportunity to find all kinds of business opportunities.  I took a quick peek at their home business section and was pleased to see that it wasn't full of potential iffy opportunities.  They mostly offer direct sales opportunities in the home business section but at least you know they are legitimate things you can do from home and not a bunch of hype.  If you are looking for either home business or an opportunity outside the home give it a shot and see what you can find!

Sociopathic Fun

This is just an absolutely fascinating blog.  In a strange way it just pulls you in and you can't stop reading.  Visit http://sociopathicfun.typepad.com/ to get a glimpse into the life and mind of a Sociopath.  He makes some good points.  We associate the term Sociopath with people like Ted Bundy and Scott Peterson but society is full of Sociopaths who never make it to fame.  Sociopaths are also not always violent.
When you go to this website start at the bottom and read from the bottom up.  Some of the stories are really funny and others are just plain fascinating.  Some of the stories also have some good lessons thrown in.  For instance read the story about the Waiter scam and then see how quickly you turn your credit card over to the next waiter you meet!
I can't wait to see what comes next on this website.

Mommyspace

Okay I just have to share this blog with you!  The article about her nephew being willing to eat moms hamburgers if they were wrapped in paper just cracked me up.  It also really demonstrates that we obviously all eat fast food more often than we should!
Besides all the fun games she tells us about and the good laughs she brings Wendy also has some great advice for those of you wanting to find a way to work from home.  I just found this blog but I think I could spend a few hours here and be completely entertained!

Chiff.com

This is a really great search engine and I have to share it with you all.   Most of the time if a webmaster wants to get their website listed in a search engine like google or yahoo they just go to the search engines site and enter the information about their own website for inclusion or they can just wait for their website to be spidered and included.  This can actually be a pretty tedious part of doing business online.  This new search engine I just ran across though is very different!
At http://www.chiff.com/ the webmaster or even anyone affiliated with a website cannot submit their website for inclusion.   This search engines uses a whole new concept.  The only people who can submit a website for inclusion are the visitors themselves!  Just imagine the possibilities.   If you as a searcher are trying to find a quality website you can go to chiff.com and search knowing that the only returns you get are from people who have used that website.  The downside is that there are good quality websites that are probably not included in the search.  Regardless, I still love the concept!

Flooble

Now this is a funny site! www.flooble.com
They have a lot of fun stuff but the one that jumped out at me was the random blog feature.  Ever have those days when you just don't know what to write or maybe you just don't have time?  Well guess what?  Your worries are over!  Just go to flooble and click on the "generate" button.  Voila!  An instant blog post!  Here is mine:

Today my boss was writing an essay about education of the European lowlands. He was really intrigued by that stuff, so he went to ask my friend Lizzie about it, and she screamed:

"Wow!.. Oh man! If I hear another thing about the European lowlands I'm going to shoot somebody!"

But then when my boss got to the part about the education, Lizzie ran away all of a sudden. But the next day, Lizzie's mother told me that the reason Lizzie was so freaked out was because she used to write a lot about education. On weekends Lizzie can be a little stupid like that, but I need to make this work...

Healthcare Today

Are you wondering how you will stay healthy this winter?  As we all know there are more and more people without any health insurance or with inadequate insurance.  We need to be responsible for ourselves and take care of our bodies.

Healthcare Today is a great website with a lot of useful information.  We can always use some good advice for staying healthy.  I especially like the post on eating more and weighing less!  Isn't that what we all want.  Well it can be done.

I was very impressed with the knowlede and advice given on this blog.  Everything from saving lives to giving up caffeine.  Something I know a lot of people are working on.

Great job!  Visit Healthcare Today and share what you learn or just share your healthy living tips!

The 30 Day Cafe

What's for dinner?  I hate hearing that question and even more hate having to ask myself that question when I haven't planned anything.   Typically I try to plan dinner at around 10 in the morning.  This gives me plenty of time to take something out to thaw and get it started if it is an all day meal.
How nice would it be if we could quit worrying and just take something out of the freezer and throw it in the oven or microwave?  Welcome to the world of Once a Month Cooking!
The concept of OAMC is that you prepare, cook and freeze 30 meals in one day.  You get it all out of the way at once!   This can be easy or hard I imagine.  One way to make it easy is to visit The 30 Day Cafe.  Here you will find everything you need, recipes, plans, ideas, hints and tips.   If you give this a try, let me know what you think of the one day of cooking place.  I would love to hear your experiences!  I might even give it a try!

Back to blogging

Heres the story.. I had a few months where I got really frustrated with this blog as well as most of my others and just gave up.  I learned that I really missed blogging though so I have made a new resolution to pick it back up and get going.   I won't be trying to post every single day like I was in the past but I will be trying to post on each blog at least a couple of times a week.  Thanks for bearing with me!

The first site I want to talk about is our friend Gaylas new forum on blogging.  It has taken off like a wildfire!  I have been watching it and posting there now and then and every single day I am just amazed at her talents.  If you have a blog or are thinking of starting one this is the one place you absolutely must be!

Not gone

I just wanted to catch up with everyone and let you know I haven't falled off the earth.  We have family in town this week, a family reunion and camping trip planned for this weekend and I have been working on helping a friend get his websites up and going and I will be trying to help promote his e-book.  I will let you know more about all that when it is up and going!    We do have one blog done which you can see at www.carpsvoice.blogspot.com and you can see what it is all about.  I expect life to back to somewhat normal after next Monday and will start righting more. In the meantime I will catch up when I can.   I hope everyone is having a great summer and appreciate your patience!

Blog In Space

You have a blog and you have a lot of readers but still you want more.  Maybe you have zero readers and would just like someone, anyone to read what you have written.  Here's your chance!  Blog In Space lets you send your blog into the deep regions of outerspace!  Wouldn't you love to be the first blogger to get a comment from Mars?   In all seriousness there are actually a lot of bloggers here with a lot of great things to say.  It is actually pretty fascinating to think about.  Imagine lifeforms on other planets reading about your day and your thoughts and hopes and dreams.  Will they laugh or cry or just think we are all nuts.  Might be a great way to prevent an alien invasion.
If you don't have a blog to transmit you can just click on a button and send a personal message out into space.  You never know!

Fruit and veggieville

Here is a great website we probably all need to visit often.  It's all about fruits and veggies!  Now do you really eat enough of either of these foods?  I sure don't.  Here it is summertime and the all the fruits and veggies are fresh and inexpensive.  After looking at this website for a few minutes I definately felt an urge to go down to the local veggie stand.   Reading about how to truly eat and enjoy an Orange was fascinating and like the Author I also love onions but never knew that I was cooking them over too high heat.  Take a look and see how hungry for fruits and veggies you get!

Here is a great little product!  The Table Mate makes eating, working at a laptop, doing crossword puzzles and many other things much easier.  The Table Mate has legs that slide right under your couch or chair so you can pull the table as close to you as needed.  The Table Mate also has adjustable heights so you can get the perfect fit for you.
You have probably seen this handy table advertised on television but here is a website that sells the Table Mate for about $5 less than some other places AND best of all, they offer delivery within a week!  Tvproducts4less.com

Slashdot

Did you know that ants have built in pedometers?  Or how about this, if there are pictures of eyes in the same room with an "honesty box" (those little boxes where you take something and put money in the box on the honor system) the amount of money put into the box is much higher.  Slashdot is a blog that is updated by scientists and the really cool thing is that they seem to all focus on different areas.  There is tons of information here.  Just because it is Summertime doesn't mean we have to quit learning.  Take a look at this great site.  It is definately fascinating and Im not even a science buff! http://science.slashdot.org/

Frugal For Life

Frugal For Life is just a really great website.  I wasn't sure I was going to like it at first but then I found the section titled "Odd Searches".  I can relate to this section well!  The author of this website took it a step further than I do.  I am always checking to see how people find my websites and find it interesting.  This author not only looked to see where traffic was coming from but took the time to research and answer the questions the orginal searcher was looking for.  The part on using herbs to get rid of debt is particularly fascinating.  I may have to just give it a try!

Coast to Coast AM with George Noory

So this is a little different but it is one of my favorites.  I am not a huge conspiracy theory fan but I do believe in UFO's and life on other planets and I also believe there is a lot of information that our governement doesn't share with us for whatever reasons.
When it comes to Coast To Coast AM though, I have been listening to radio show forever and a day it seems.  Clear back to when Art Bell was hosting.  Sometimes the information and guests are kind of boring for me but more often than not I lose a lot of sleep because I just have to stay awake to hear what the guests have to say.
Coast to Coast is not all about aliens and conspiracy theories, don't get me wrong there.  One of my shows every year is Ghost to Ghost on halloween when listeners call in and share ghost stories.  I also love the pictures they post from listeners who claim to have gotten a picture of a ghost.  They really do cover all aspects of our lives on this show and it is a lot of fun.  If you are at all interested in any of this stuff and haven't yet found Coast to Coast, now is the time to take a look!

Celebrity Gossip

Have you ever wondered why we are so fascinated with celebrities and their lives?  Why do we care so much about whether or not Brad and Angelina are really happy in their new lives or where she would give birth?  Why do we love to hate K-Fed so much?  Why do we look at the mistakes Brittany has made with baby Sean Preston and gasp collectively when we have all made mistakes with our own kids at one time or another?   I am just as guilty as you at being enthralled with everything they all say and do.  I can't wait for the awards shows to see who shows up wearing really great clothes and who will be wearing the worst thing ever made.  So today I am bringing you not one website but two!  Both focus on celebrities and gossip and all the things we love to hear and see about:

suburbanscavenger.com

I absolutely LOVE this blog.  First because I love a great deal and it doesn't get better than this.  Second because it is something that a lot of people used to do and everyone is afraid to do now.  Im glad to see that someone still believes in dumpster diving!
I myself am guilty of driving down the street on trash day and wanting stuff that people have thrown away.  Occasionally I even stop and grab something.  In fact last year I got Katies swimming pool from someones trash pile.  It wasn't one of those blow up ones either.  It was one of the big solid square ones with the built in slide and a built in water squirter thing.
I recently read something that relates here and that has been bugging me.  Basically: "You can tell how spoiled our society is by the garbage we throw away".  Take a look at all the things this scavenger is finding and tell me it isn't so:

Here is a great website that focuses on preventing kids from smoking.   They have a great list of tips about how to talk to your kids and not just your basic "do it" advice.  Everything is broken down to age appropriate advice.  They also have a resident parental expert Dr. Popkin.  To top it off, right now they are offering a voucher for two free movie tickets if you take the pledge to talk to your kids about smoking.  Use the movie tickets to go out with your child, watch a movie and TALK..

Boowa and Kwala

Todays website is just a really fun place for kids.  Boowa and Kwala has been one of my daughters favorite gaming sites since she was about two!
It is an Australian site and just loaded with a lot of fun, entertaining and educational games for kids of all ages.
What makes this place unique is the fact that even children who can't yet read can follow the instructions.  They not only use words for navigation but pictures as well.  Plus, the games are broken into categories for each age group which makes it very easy to find the right games for your child!  http://www.boowakwala.com/
